The Guided tour in Münster

To visit Münster the third day we spent in Germany, was another and really nice experience. The weather was great and we all looked very much forward to go sightseeing in the sun.
Münster is first of all a very historical city and on the guided tour we heard a lot about Münster through the history, from back in the 9th century and until today. We had a nice walk in smaller guide-groups through the streets in Münster and we saw among other things: St. Lamberti's Church a huge church you can see at the pictures, also another beautiful church we saw from the inside as well, called St. Paul's Cathedral and we saw the statue Kiepenkerl, which is a monument of a merchant that survived several wars, among these the second world war. It survived when everything else was destroyed by bombing. Because of that Kiepenkerl means a lot to Münster, because: "The statue can stand by bombing" and shows therefore strength to the city.
After the guided tour we had time to go shopping and we had lunch at one of the many cosy cafés and restaurants around the squares. That was a very great ending of the day in Münster, before going back to the extremely hot bus, to drive for about one hour, back to Ahlen again. It was a great study tour!

Mai and Patricia seem to enjoy Münster!
